It's Easter session time! These are the two examples of the backdrops that will be offered for the 2016 mini event - aren't they adorable?!? The sessions will be held Saturday March 5th, 2016.

Christmas Styled Petite Sessions! November 14, 2015

So this is SUPER last minute, but I have had so many requests for Christmas sessions this year... AND I happen to have a last minute opening this Saturday morning!

I have decided to offer only FOUR sessions. These are the set examples - they will be super simple and focus on your child instead of a bunch of props. If you would like to book a spot, please email me with your contact info. This set will accommodate one or two children ideally and no more than three.

Princess Ava

In an effort to better my blogging habit... I decided to pick one of my favorite little girls to start off with!! My niece, Ava, had a Frozen-themed birthday this past year. So when Lost and Found vintage rentals (www.facebook.com/lostandfoundvintagerentals) offered a Frozen-Inspired themed set, I couldn't resist!!!!

Ava showed up with her beautiful dress (which SANG no less when you pushed a button on it!) and got to work. Her momma styled her hair in the dressing room, while I snapped a couple "getting ready" shots - which are important in all professional photo shoots, ya know!

From there, we went to the GORGEOUS set that Jennifer designed and got to work. Ava knew just how to work the camera with her sweet smiles, silly faces, and her very own Elsa doll. Isn't she beautiful!?

Frances + Jason [Married]

Earlier this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Frances + Jason's wedding. I have known the family through different connections for several years now, and every one of them is sweeter than the last.

The weather was amazing, the guests were fun, the bride and groom were perfect. The day went smoothly and we even went ahead of schedule on our formal shots!

Frances and Jason - congratulations to the both of you and thank you so much for including me in such a big part of your wedding day. Here is a "sneak peek" at some of the highlights from the afternoon!

Emma Marie - Two Years

Emma Marie. Two years young. In those two short years, so much has changed. I went working a full-time job while balancing home life with a toddler, to being a full-time stay at home mom with a redefined sense of "productive." You have taught me much in these two years... You have taught me that smiles are contagious, that it's ok to not have a perfectly clean house, or a million Pinterest projects done. That sometimes, at the end of the day, it's ok to say that "it's been a good day," if diapers are dry, kids are fed, books are read, and messes are made. You have taught me that words aren't a universal language, and that little people with not much to say can certainly express their opinions and thoughts. You have taught me that a little girl, not even a year old, can be just as stubborn as her momma. And that it just gets stronger as she gets older. You have taught me that having toenail painting parties is just as much fun (if not more!) when there are teeny-tiny toenails involved. You have taught me love.

In many ways, it seems like forever ago that you were born. You have changed so much, WE have changed so much. In just as many ways, it seems like just yesterday. I'm not quite sure just how you have become such a sweet little toddler girl, instead of a sweet little baby.... But I do know that I have absolutely LOVED having the opportunity to watch you, to teach you, and to learn with you over these last two years. It has been an experience that is like no other. While some days are challenging, I couldn't imagine anything different. I am so grateful for that.

I love you, my dear. You have truly made our family "complete," Miss Emma Marie.

Michael - Butler Senior

Somewhere, I have a photograph of a nine year old girl, holding a teeny tiny baby boy. I am that girl, and this is that teeny tiny boy. At some point over the last 18 years, that teeny baby has grown into a super smart, incredibly talented, handsome young man. When I am invited to do a family session, I get the opportunity to peek into the lives of a family - to watch the dynamics, the interactions. It's one of my absolute favorites parts of what I do. When a family invites me to their HOME for a session, I get an even bigger peek. During this family session, you know what I saw?

LOVE. A ton of love. This little girl, four months new, has the sweetest family and is so very loved. She is the center of two families who interact with each other in a way that can only be described in one way!

Getting "THAT" photo of your kids

Everyone wants THAT photo of their kids. You know, the one where they are all looking at the camera and smiling that sweet, angelic smile? I won't lie - I'm not excluded from that group! I love to have "that" shot, especially when I bring them to styled sessions, or take the time to actually coordinate outfits.

But you know what? The largest photo that's hung in my home? Neither kid is looking at the camera. They are looking at each other, working together, playing together. They are being themselves,and I got the opportunity to "sneak" a moment in time of that love between them. That moment will never happen again. They will never be that small again. And it's okay that they aren't looking.

(Might I add, this photo ^ is a 20x30 canvas... Not small!)

When you look back at their 3rd birthday session... Their Easter 2015 session... Their Christmas 2017 session... Or even that newborn session when all they wanted to do was be AWAKE when we wanted them asleep... I would LOVE to help you find the joy in seeing how they were in that moment in time. Because, let's face it - time is fleeting. And as the little ones grow bigger, they change. They change daily, monthly, and (in leaps and bounds!) yearly.

It is my goal to get THAT shot for you. We all want it! Myself included. In fact, I try to include many of them in your gallery to choose from. But when you look back... If I can capture the funny smile they have been making all month, or the funny dance they do when they are excited, or even the "I'm so over this" photo... Then I feel satisfied with my part of the session.

Even more importantly, if I can help YOU to see the beauty in those silly smiles, those goofy looks... Then I feel as if my job is truly done.

Miss Charlee is One!

So, the groundhog saw his shadow and Ohio is STILL getting snow this March, I thought I would share a session from a beautiful warm fall evening with you!

Miss Charlee turned one, and she was SUCH a joy to photograph! It amazes me just how much personality little ones have even at just a year. Her faces, her expressions, her attitude... I loved it! Her sweet older brother was pretty stinking cute, too.. And the two of them together? SO ADORABLE!! <3

Parker Senior Session

Parker's senior session was a total BREEZE to photograph!!! He was totally on-point with everything I asked of him (smile, no smile, climb here, watch out for those thorns there). His momma (who is a complete sweetheart) considered driving 3 hours for the photographer who did Parker's 2 older brothers' sessions. She decided to try someone local, and I was honored to have the opportunity! Between the two of them, I really enjoyed this session! Parker's school and class are lucky to have him - in the short time he has been there, he has made an impact in the Young Life and Yearbook, among other things I'm sure! Good luck and congratulations, Parker!

Alec Senior Session

I used to work with Alec's momma, so of course when she asked me to take her son's senior photos, I was super excited! She wanted to go to Carillon Park, which was a new place for me to shoot (although I have been there before). Seeing things from a totally new perspective made it fun... And Alec was super easy going and willing to do whatever crazy or silly thing I asked him to do. Congratulations on a great football season and your last year of high school, Alec!

Our friends at GreatStitch.com sent us some fun outfits to model for the Valentine's minis as well!

Little guy was not feeling well - - - he was a total trooper most of the time, but showed how he was really feeling for these next few shots. They still make me smile!

So, as usual, I am lacking in the blogging department. My New Year's Resolution is to blog more, and more consistently!

But, in the meantime, I get to go through some of my sessions from this past fall and be reminded of some of the amazing people I get to work with! This sweet, beautiful girl just had her second birthday! I'm lucky to call her family <3

For our session, it was probably the HOTTEST day yet… And Miss Marleigh was so tolerant while we dressed her in those gorgeous (although hot) outfits… Towards the end, she did what any girl does - threw on some cute comfy clothes, put her hair in a pony tail, and grabbed a cold drink!!

I couldn't decide and I still can't - black and white or color!? I think she's beautiful in both!! <3

Miss Marleigh has a future photography career ahead of her, yes?

Hills Boys

Carson and Cooper are two of the most adorable young men I have photographed… I have known their momma and their grandma for a long time, and have seen the boys grow up in pictures. This year I have had the opportunity to photograph them twice, but this was our first FULL session together. Cooper was totally ready to "be done" (which also means he was quick to give me a smile, knowing it would speed things along) - and Carson was a total ham once he warmed up. We had a great time hiking on a path, climbing fences, and chasing ducks.

You'd better watch out, Kristy, those two sets of blue eyes are going to get all the girls one day!!

Fall Mini Sessions

The Fall Mini Session event was something that I was looking forward to for (what seemed like) a very long time! There was a lot of planning and creating that went into the session. And, the best part about it all? Was seeing the vision turn into a reality! The weather was PERFECT (late September could be a toss-up!), the location was gorgeous, and every session was a blast. I was beat by the end of the day, but super happy with everyone's photos! I loved seeing new faces and meeting new ones, and hope to have you all back again soon!

Davis - Senior Session

When I was first contacted about doing Davis' photos, one of the first things that was talked about was his dogs and his dirt bike… And I thought, "awesome!" I love to incorporate items that are special to my clients - and what better time to include them than a high school senior photo session! His dogs were on their best behavior (even with a territorial cow taunting them!) and it was a blast to photograph him with his dirt bike! This handsome senior was more than tolerant of my silly ideas, and I was so happy with the results!

Adelynn is One

This Girl. She is one of the sweetest, smiliest, happiest, most easy-going beautiful babies I have had the pleasure of photographing. For every session, she is super-cooperative, and really just makes my job way too easy. Her momma always has the perfect outfits and accessories, and the love her mom and dad have for her are super evident in every interaction. I always look forward to their sessions and can't wait for the next!

Oh, and check out this girl's expressions during her Cake Smash. Hilarious - she means business!

R & P - Brothers

Matt and I met at church in junior high… We became friends with the same group and spent many weekends together with that group all through high school. Then, life happened, as it sometimes does, and we didn't talk for years. We were Facebook friends, and so I was able to see photos of his beautiful wife… Then his adorable son… Then another adorable son!

So, when Matt contacted me about doing family photos, I jumped at the chance! We had the session, the boys were GREAT… And then I began to go through their photos. I had such a hard time narrowing them down - I loved them all! (That, BTW, NEVER happens… Pretty sure I am my own worst critic!) Matt and Leslie, you guys are an adorable family and have two wonderful boys - thank you for the opportunity to photograph them!!

Reid is One

I knew that this session was going to be a blast after my first conversation with Mom. She had so many great ideas and knew what she was looking for.

Reid was all smiles during our session, until the end of his cake smash. But, then, being the smart parents they are, Mom and Dad busted out the old metal bathtub and filled it.... With warm water from coolers, AND bubbles!!! I was seriously impressed! Reid LOVED it, and I loved watching him play.
